Sir, — As my new Government valuation is almost five times the 1969 figure I rang the rate department, of the Christchurch City Council to ask if my rates would be five times greater. I was curtly informed they had not a clue. While I heartily agree with this statement, I just wonder if there is not somebody else in the council endowed with enough mar-
