Monopoly for Radio N.Z.
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The Auckland private radio station. Radio i, has been refused permission to broadcast racing and trotting meetings in the Auckland and Waikato areas. The station made rperesentations in this respect- to a com-j bined meeting of the Nw Zealand | Racing and Trotting Conferenes on Wednesday. Mr A. G. Algie, secretary ot the New Zealand Racing Conference, said yesterday that it j was decided to renw with Radiol was decided to renew with Radio; New Zealand the previous contract (to broadcast every racing: and trotting meeting in the' Dominion) which existed with the . New Zealand Broadcasting Cor-1 poration.
