Church TV 'too late'
(N.Z. Press Association) | NELSON, June 13. The director-general of Television One will be; asked by the Nelson Diocesan; Synod to restore the programme “Plain Speaking” to its former time of about S p.m. Mrs A. G. King, of Richmond, said that because of a change of time to the latter part of the Sunday evening programme, “Plain Speaking” had lost some of its im ! pact. The Bishop of Nelson (the Rt Rev. P. E. Sutton) said that the churches involved in broadcasting the programme represented a large percentage of the community. The number attending worship in a region on a Sunday would ; compare more than favourably with the number who attended Rugby matches on Saturday. i
