Duties: In addition to general legal work of the Department, the Legal Branch is responsible for all preparatory work and Parliamentary duties in respect of all legislation which is administered by the department (e.g. property, law, law of trusts and wills, commercial law, criminal and penal law and procedures, administrative law, family law, liquor licensing law) and in respect of proposals for general law reform. The appointee may be able to specialise to some extent within these and other fields in accordance with his interests. Qualifications: Qualifications in law required.
