The Soviet Defence Miniter (Marshal Andri t Grechko) charged yesterday ; that western “imperialists" were plotting to form a united anti-Soviet alliance with China aimed at halting the process of xvorld detente. The marshal, a member of the Communist Partv’s ruling 15-man Politburo, said the Soviet Union was struggling for a lasting peace and to ensure that the principles of peaceful co- [ existence became a principle lof relations between States -with different systems. : Marshal Grechko, whose - remarks were delivered at a conference of outstanding soldiers and reported by the Tass news agency, said the "forces of aggression and refaction" had not laid down their arms, and were step ! ping up resistance to relaxa tion of tension. I “While building up its military potential in Europe, imperialism at the same time seeks to avoid easing tensions in South-East Asia, (the Middle. East, and the 'eastern Mediterranean.'' he declared. "Imperialists allot a special place in their plans of establishing a united anti-So-viet front with the participation of China."
