Old Boys’ squash team defaults

In an almost unprecedented move. High School Old Boys II defaulted its A grade squash rackets game to its No. 1 side last evening.

Old Bovs were without Graeme Bird, who is managing the New Zealand Colts side in Australia and its No. 1, Barry McNeil, who is in the North Island, but did not take the usual step of calling on B grade players to make up the side.

Christchurch II and Christchurch 111 both had comfortable wins in their second round matches against Christchurch I and Sumner, respectively, leaving Christchurch II in the lead with 16 points. It is followed by Christchurch 111 and High Schoo! Old Boys I. 12 points, Christchurch I, 10, High School Old Boys II 6, Eurnside and Sumner 2 The most absorbing match of the evening was that between the junior.
