Government troops today drove Communist attackers out of the provincial capital of Xuan Loc 45 miles east of Saigon, military sources said. The sources said that by noon Xuan Loc had been completely cleared of Communist forces who attacked the city for the second successive day behind a heavy barrage of rocket, artillery, and mortar fire.
Government militia today destroyed one more tank, making a total of five in the seesaw battle of the last 24 hours, the sources said.
