Ihe Wool Board s new fashion promoter, Miss ! Frances Talbot, was in I Christchurch yesterday to (judge the local regional final of the Women’s Division of i Federated Farmers wool
[gown of the year contest, 'sponsored by the board. She joined the Wool Board in January, succeeding Miss Bobbi Menzies, who is : now married and has returned to her home town, Christchurch. The winner of the Hu- ■ runui, North Canterbury, and Canterbury regional
final was Mrs Shirley Thompson, of Darfield W.D.F.F. Her vivid yellow! wool gown was hand! embroidered with sequins, and was. said Miss Talbot, exquisitely finished. Mrs P S McEwen, of Totara Valley, won the South Canter-i b u r y , Mid-Canterbury.; Waimate, and North Otago final in Tirqaru. The 15 regional finalists will be judged at the W.D.F.F.’sgolden jubilee conference in Wellington in June. The prize is a return trip to Fiji.
