ZEE BEE APPEALS

The Press" Special Service) INVERCARGILL.

Zee Bee, Howgame and Blue Day will be expected to dispute favouritism for the Wairio Cup, main event and second leg of the T.A.B. double at the Wairio Jockey Club’s meeting at Riverton tomorrow.

Zee Bee has had one start since winning the Riverton Cup. this being in the Great Autumn Handicap, in which he was checked in the running and had his chance wrecked.

Zee Bee made light of his 53.5 kg in the Riverton Cup. He has been raised to 55.5 kg in the Wairio Cup, but looks capable of handling this increase against a similar field to the one that he beat at Riverton.

Most opposition for Zee Bee may come from form runners in Howgame. Grey Pride. Blue Day. and Redlo, all of which have been racing right up to their peak.

E. Winsloe has Redlo, Blue Day, Sobe r ano and Blend engaged, and they are a capable quartet by any standards. Redlo finished second to Zee Bee in the Riverton Cup and filled a similar placing behind Howgame in the Gordon’s Gin Handicap.

It will however be Blue Day. one of the lightweights that could fare best of Winsloe’s runners. She has won five races this season and at Riccarton finished third behind Graven Spa and Havn in the Dominion Handicap and was runner-up to Guest Star in the Grear Autumn Handicap. 1
