Came through A.R.C. autumn meeting in outstanding form, winning Easter Handicap and 2000 Champion Stakes decisively. With Ikg less than last time is very favourably placed. R. Lang 2 3211 GREY WAY (9) 56.5. Classy sprinter and easy winner of last two starts. Down 2kg from weight in last two runs One to beat if he handles right-handed track. M. Burridge 3 2160 AUDITOR (8) 55.5. Out standing sprinter at best. Well beaten last time but real chance at this distance. G. Hare 4 1001 HI-BING (12) 55. Wellperformed W.F.A. runner which came back to top form last Saturdav. At his best a very good chance. G. Willetts 5 1271 BLUE BLOOD (10) 54.5. Won over 1200 m at Ellerslie at last start. Carried 59.5 last time so well in here. On firm ground must be one ol the toughest. 6 1502 JAN'S BEAU (16) 54. Top galloper which came back in great style after a let-up. for second last Tuesday. Al best would find this a luxury weight. P. Johnson 7 2910 BATTLE EVE (4) 53.5 Well beaten twelfth last start after some very good form. Seems best at this distance. G Hughes 9 0544 CURLY WAVE (4> 53 Consistent and ran well last two starts when fourth in Easter Handicap and Stars Travel Stakes. Invariably runs on strongly but needs softer ground than is likelv. B. Comoton 9 0293 FREE GOLD (5) 51.5. Capable. Game third last time behind Kiwi Can. Has pace and usually runs on gamely. R. Taylor 10 5721 BAY SOVEREIGN (2) 50 5. Improved galloper. Followed good second in Easter Handicap with narrow win last start at Ellerslie. Nol as well placed here but form commands respect. T. Rowlands n 1169 GOLD DUCAT (1) 50.5. Won two good 1600 m races last month Seems unharmed by Ellerslie racing and down some 4kg here. B. Andrews

Beaten ofi last in latest attempt after a spell Good at best but hardly likely here. 14 4100 CONCH (15) 49 First race for about throe months. Capable at best but win would be a big surprise

Racing solidly. Unlikely starter. 19 4102 TONIC TIME (21) 48. Close second over 1600 m last Saturday. Deserves a start. 18 6404 KUTATI (20) 48. Fine soft-ground galloper which looks ready for good form. Would be lucky to get a run though. 21 4676 RED VALLEY (13) 47.5. Even in best form would hardly be up to this company. 20 0615 DANISH RHAPSODY (19) 47.5. Racing fairly well but in lesser company than this. rrrm (T.A.B. closes 2.45 p.m.) 3.55 p.m.— NEW ZEALAND HANDICAP $3500; 1200 m. 1 1117 STEVO (1) 57.5. Had string of impressive provincial sprint wins before failing badly behind Melody Belle over 1200 m. Ellerslie, April 5. Could well make amends. 2 4725 DENAGH'S PLANET (2) 52.5. 3 1225 SHOT THRU (3) 51.5. Disappointing when only fifth 1200 m, Pukckohe on Tues day. Fast and could do bet ter on this track. B. Andrews 4 3360 CATAMARAN (11) 51. Has performed well on very soft ground. Will be resuming racing after a spell since last spring.

P. Johnson 5 1004 GAY TIPLER (4) 50. Bit hard to follow but decidedly useful at best. Seems to prefer easy ground.

6 9448 AH JAY (10) 49.5. Tough sprinter. After some useful preliminary racing might soon be ready for good form again. Best on soft tracks.

R. Skelton 7 0300 HASTY COUNT (7) 49. Has not raced much lately. Will probably need this and much softer going.

8 9328 ROSS HAGEN (6) 49. Came up well in second and third races after a spell to finish second and third. Ellerslie. March 31 and April 5. Hardly likely on Pukckohe run. 9 2600 SOMERSET PRIDE (8) 49. Softer track might help. J. Jones 10 0273 GOLD DELLA (5) 48.5. Speedy and managed fair third behind Stevo last start. This is tougher. 11 6000 KAUERE LAD (14) 48.5. Not likely yet but worth some attention. W. Cardwell 12 3000 ATHELLO (9) 48. Last placing was in October behind Sir Garland and Bay Boss at Te Rapa. 13 0800 INDIAN COUNT (13) 48 Looked good at times last spring This will be first race since. B.
