Welsh lose John Bevan

The Welsh Rugby league; team to tour Australasia in i June suffered a set-back! yesterday when its star 1 wing, John Bevan, announced he would not go. A spokesman for the Rugby Football League said that Bevan had dropped out because his wife was seriously ill. “Lt is a big blow to the Welsh chances in the world championship matches,” the spokesman said. "John was expected to be one of our greatest assets on the tour.”
Bevan, the Welsh, Lions. ! and Barbarians wing, is starring for his club Warrington! at present.
