Collectors still needed
Cholmondeley Home is still 200 collectors short for its appeal on Friday'. The suburbs are well covered now: collectors are required only for inner-city corners.
The organiser of the appeal Mrs E. Blackburn, said that nothing short of 400 collectors in the inner city would be adequate on Friday.
[ The art of collection lay in' [the number and deployment; [of collectors. No-one would! [look for a collection box, but [would respond where they [saw one. she said. [ More collectors would concentrate on the city area; [ bounded by Manchester. Tuam and Armagh Streets [and Cambridge Terrace, than [in the total of 50 suburbs [being covered. | Lyttelton held its collection I [ yesterday. Although a provi-l [ sional count had not been made last evening, and boxes were not in from the bays, a; spokesman said that response [ had been good.
A small number of collec I tors could be used in Syden- | ham and Edgeware.
