Exploration falls 13 p.c.

(A’.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) SYDNEY. Mineral exploration in Australia has dropped — in real terms — by 13 per cent, the Australian Mining Industry Council says.

Expenditure on exploration in 1972-73 was $99.7m in 1973-74 it was slol.om and so far in 1974-75 it is $ 102.0 m.

After allowing for inflation, and based on 196869 prices, expenditure for those three years dropped from $81.4m to $73.1m, and $63.4m this year. The peak for recent years was in 1970-71 when $161.1m was spent in actual terms, representing $149.0m in adjusted terms.
