Dismal trading on Australian markets

Leading industrial shares fell sharply on Australian stock exchanges yesterday, in a session dominated by sellers right throughout the markets.

B.H.P. set the trend from, the opening bell: the shares lost 18c in Sydney to sell at 574 c; in Melbourne sales (closed at 580 c for a fall of 112 c. Last Friday B.H.P. shares at one stage changed hands at 618 c.
