Wolfenden improves
New Zealand’s Peter Wolfenden cut into Keith Addison’s lead in the World Driving Championship after the fifth series of races at Addington Raceway last night but is still 10 points behind the Australian representative with four races remaining.
Shelly Goudreau (Canada) also improved his position and at the end of the night was third, 11 behind Wolfenden and five clear of Joe O’Brien, of the United States.
The points after the end of 20 of the 24 races are: K. Addison (Australia) 132, P. Wolfenden (N.Z.) 122. S. Goudreau (Canada) 111, J. O’Brien (United States) 106, J. Marsh Jun. (United States) 104, U. Thoresen (Norway) 101, H. Bandemer (West Germany) 77, J. Wagenaar (Netherlands) 67.
