The Deputy Leader of the Opposition (Mr Taiboys) gave notice of a motion asking for a Select Committee to examine procedure to allow the Postmaster-General to answer questions on broadcasting subjects.
Mr R. L. G. Talbot (Nat., South Canterbury),- gave notice that he would introduce the Waitaki Lakes Recreation Area Bill. Another notice of motion was also tabled. Ministers answered 12 questions.
Permission was given for the Chatham Islands County Council Empowering Bill to be withdrawn.
The House debated two motions by members. During the evening the Address-in-Reply debate was resumed.
