Redundancy agreement
•N Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 31. A redundancy agreement; has been negotiated foi employees of A. W. Allen; (Levin), Ltd. a long-; established furniture store which will close soon. The secretary of the Wellington Shop Employees’; Union (Mr G. D. Kelly) said today that the agreement was identical with that negotiated last October for employees of; the Cornish group of companies. The Cornish agreement provided for scaled redundancy payments for employees. , Workers with six months ' continuous service received i one week’s redundancy pay:'; workers with more than 45 < years continuous service re- i ceived 40 weeks redundancypay. , A. W. Allen (Levin), Ltd. employs a staff of 20. At ( least one staff member has 1 more than 40 years service.it and several have more than 11 20; If
