MAN BADLY HURT

A man was seriously injured when two cars collided on the Ashley Gorge Road, four miles east of the gorge, at 4.30 yesterday afternoon.

Mr Geoffrey Carlisle Norris, of 532 Hereford Street, North Linwood, was admitted to Christchurch Hospital suffering from head, internal, and leg injuries, and lacerations. His condition is described as satisfactory. Three other persons were taken to hospital after the accident, but were discharged.

A man was admitted to hospital after the car in [which he was travelling left the road and hit a fence on the Akaroa highway, near [Tai Tapu, at 10.15 a.m. yesterday.

He is Selwvn Edward Fantham, aged 37, of 25 Aorangi Road. Bryndwr. His condition is described as satisfactory.
