Men decide to stay out
fN.Z.PA.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, March 28. The unofficial strike that; has crippled the Port of; London ’ for a month will! continue, after another con-! troversial vote at a mars! meeting of dockers. For the second time in a 1
[week, the men clearly expressed their wish to return to work. Voting was by show of hands, and the strike leaders claim that the men decided by a three-to-one majority to continue the strike. Reporters covering the meeting, however, say that the verdict was six-to-four in favour of returning to work. The 4000 striking dockers will not hold another meeting until the end of next week. The dispute reflects t'-e men’s fears of losing their jobs through the increasing use of container freight. The leader of the Transport and General Workers’ Union. Mr Jack Jones, has appealed to the dockers »o| end the strike, and to accept! a Government plan towards; meeting their demands.
