Central Marlborough, the Sounds: South-westerlies, fresh at times: mostly fine although cooler; a few showers mainly about the ranges. Kaikoura Coast: Fresh coo! south-westerlies predomin-i
ating; mainly fair but a few showers, chiefly about the ranges.
Nelson: Cool south-westerlies, fresh and gusty at times; showery about the high country, elsewhere mostly fine.
Buller, Westjand: Southwesterlies fresh at times; changeable; heavy showers at first with hail, but fair intervals increasing during the day; cold.
Outlook: Showers at first in many districts, but fair in areas sheltered from the I south-west.
