Eyre fords washed out
Although the country was saturated and persistent rain was falling, Lees ..Valley, Okuku, and other Rangiora areas were not threatened by serious flooding last evening, according to reports from County staff and farmers. Eyre River fords had been washed out again, but this had been a fairly regular occurance with freshes in the river during recent heavy rains, said the Oxford County Clerk (Mr L. L. Kennedy). The fords would be restored as soon as the river level dropped.
