Spirits to cost more
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 11. Prices for imported whisky, gin, and vodka are about to be increased in bottle stores and wholesale stores. Nip prices are not affected. The new prices will take effect as old stocks become depleted. Bottlers meeting increased charges have been authorised by the Price Tribunal to pass these on. to the buyer. Imported whisky will cost 30c to 35c more for a 260 z bottle wholesale (55c more at bottle stores). Gin will rise 10c a bottle wholesale (15c at the bottle store), and vodka 15c wholesale (10c bottle store). Local whisky prices are not affected, but the trade says an increase is expected later.
