‘No letters to deceased’
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, March 11. Allegations that letters of re-designation had been sent to parents of deceased employees of the N.Z.B.C. were without foundation, said the corporation’s chairman (Sir Alister Mclntosh) today. Sir Alister was referring in a statement to an allegation yesterday by Mr F. Wevers, president of the Radio and Television Journalists’ Society.
“A thorough check has been carried out into this matter, and we are completely satisfied no such letters have been issued,” said Sir Alister. “In addition, we have checked with the families of the two former employees referred to, and they confirm that no such letters have been received by them.”
Sir Alister said Mr Wevers had been asked to substantiate his allegations.
