AUCTION OF ANTIQUES
Antique furniture and fine: art collector’s items fetched: good prices at auction in Timaru on Friday. A Victorian inlaid burr-; walnut credenza sold for $5OO, and a Spanish mahogany sideboard for $390. A Royal Worcester pot-pourri sold for $275 and another Royal Worcester) piece, signed by Hadley, fetched $205. A rare item was an eighttune Victorian music box. which was purchased for $275. A mahogany Georgian chest sold for $330. The auction, held by Mr A Sprott, of Christchurch, was attended by buyers from Invercargill to Hamilton.
