N.Z. draughts team named
The following New Zealand draughts team has been chosen to play a return correspondence match against the United States:—
G. Peach (Wellington), J. Dowie, R. Noonan (captain), J. Van Nieukerk (all Christchurch), P. L. Prince (Wanganui), G. Hadle (Timaru), R. Rudd, R. Dixon (Greymouth), R. Duncan (Otago Central), J. Williams, A. Amos, J. McHugh (Christchurch).
The first match, which lasted 18 months, was won narrowly by the United States and changes have been made in both teams for the return contest. Unavailable for New’ Zealand is A. Hostich (Auckland), a former national champion.
