$500,000 bid for colt

An international syndicate has offered 5500.000 for the unbeaten Victorian two-year-old colt Caboul The syndicate of American, Asian and Australian racing men want to continue racing the colt, and later put him to stud. Caboul’s trainer, Tony Lopes, who has confirmed the offer, bought the two-year-old at the Brisbane Yearling Sales for only $BOOO. It is understood that the syndicate wishes to buy Caboul before he runs in the $71,000 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield on; Saturday. If he is sold it will be for an Australian record price.
