Zebak wins easily

Zebak brought his record to isix wins when he gave the others a sound beating in the Suburban Handicap second leg of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s I T.A.B. double yesterday. ; A rain-affected track was. for I Zebak, like ice cream to a schoolboy, and Messrs A. Davis and ■Robin Weir’s three-year-old won almost at leisure by two lengths I and a half. 1 Last season Zebak won three (races, including the Canterbury Jockev Club’s Champagne (Stakes and he has now added three more wins to that tally (as a three-year-Old. Zebak was ridden yesterday by I his Riccarton trainer, Ron Mo Cann who allowed the chestnut to stay behind Surge Again for a start, then allowed him to run clear as they swung wide on to the home turn Zebak was always clearly master of the situation in the straight. He was In the best possible position in the conditions—wide out on the track—and remained unchallenged. Scotch William, a hot fancy was place backers, and Zebak ? most strongly-backed rival for a win, and showed his liking for the soft ground by finishing purposefully for his second. He was half a length better than Pakistan Flight, which easily outfinished Sub Indian.
