More aid to Zambia
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 24. New Zealand is likely to I step up its practical and 'technical aid to Zambia as a | result of a meeting at Parliament today between the visiting Zambian Foreign Minister (Mr Vernon Mwaanga) and the Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Freer). After. the meeting, Mr Freer said New Zealand had agreed to send two agricultural experts to Zambia later this year. The discussions — in which Mr Freer was deputising for the Minister of Overseas Trade (Mr Walding)—centred on a discussion on ways in which New Zealand could help Zambia to improve its trading and its economy. No particular items were discussed but Zambia might increase its imports of New Zealand meat and dairy produce. Mr Freer said he had] agreed with Mr Mwaanga that more Zambian agricultural students and technicians should be given the opportunity to study in New Zealand.
