Truth of Aust. report denied
(N.ZP A -Reuter— Copyright) DJAKARTA, February 25. Indonesian Ministry of Defence officials have dismissed as totally untrue an Australian newspaper report that Indonesia plans to invade Portuguese Timor within the next few weeks.
An official in the Ministry said yesterday: “The reports are false, and totallv without foundation.”
On Saturday, the “Melbourne Age” quoted a “secret intelligence report” as saying that the Indonesians would launch an air and sea assault on the tiny colony, situated half-way between Java and Australia, within a few weeks.
