The convener of the New Zealand track and field selection panel, Mr B. S. Hunt, of Ashburton, has warned athletes that they will not be chosen automatically for the nat-
ional under 23 team to visit Australia because they have bettered the qualifying standards. So far, 45 had bettered the standards and the size of the team was being restricted to 35, Mr Hunt said. The team is expected to be announced from Wellington next Tuesday evening.
