Falls unabated on dull Australian markets
Share prices fell again in Australia yesterday, but the rate of decline slowed. B.H.P. was again weak and other industrial leaders attracted little interest, most closing at or near Monday’s levels.
In Melbourne, B.H.P. fell 8c to 612 c, 1.A.C., A.G.C. and A.S.L all eased marginally, and Phillip Morris failed to follow the Sydney prices and fell 10c to 590 c.
In a dull mining market, Peko-Wallsend recovered 10c at 310 c.
Most other uranium stocks closed weaker and golds were mixed. G.M.K. was 10c up at 230 c but Emperor fell 5c to 185 c. B.H. South fell 15c to 210 c) but most other movements were small.
With the exception off Endeavour, most oil stocksi attracted little interest. Endeavour was 3c down at 12c in reaction to news of a 5c call on the company’s i contributing shares.
