The 24ft fishing boat Scorpion, owned by Mr B. Harris, of Kaikoura, slipped over the edge of State Highway 1 in the Okarahia Valley, 16 miles south of Kaikoura, on Saturday night. Traffic Officer N. Beecroft, of Kaikoura (fore-
ground) is assisting in the recovery of the boat by a mobile crane yesterday afternoon. The boat was being towed when the clutch on the towing vehicle burned out, and the trailer jackknifed and went over the bank, snapping the drawbar.
