i “THE SOUTH TONIGHT” I Your reviewer, A.K.G., I proclaims “The South I Tonight s” send-up of I I “Kung-Fu" to be a failure. I i That programme is, as he I states, beyond parody. Why 1 then, but a few short para- I graphs further on, does he I attempt his own send-up of J the same programme? A fail-I ure too? And is that ques- \ tion the correct answer he seeks! K.N.H. i “BUCK HOUSE” Like your correspondent, “Wooden Spoon,” I too enjoy (“Buck House.” Yet, I wouldnot express my joy of this i programme with so much hyperbole as your writer does. To me it is not the | “most fantastic programme! on television at present” nor'' “ . . . this magnificant i humorous show” that he: claims it to be. It is indeed a useful exercise where-in | our New Zealand talent can be shown to be as good as, if not better, than most sec-. ond-rate United Kingdom or United States programmes of a like nature, and suggest as performers that with bet- - ter script writers, producers,, and directors, first-class performance is close within their grasp. i | JUNE J. DUNCAN. I
