Workers for Iran

Iran is recruiting key textile workers in Britain with promises of higher salaries, free cars and petrol, and free holidays, the London “Sunday Telegraph” reported todav. Government officials from Iran are carrying out interviews at the moment in Manchester. Iran wants technicians and middle management staff to help build up its textile industry, which is being equipped with the most mod- ! ern machinery in the world. It is offering Britons salaries of up to $NZ17,700 a year under initial contracts j for two or three years. Many British textile workers are believed to have applied because the local industry has already been hit by redundancies.
