ICI profit up £144m

(N.Z.P.A.Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. TCI Ltd. Britain's biggest industrial group, has announced pre-tax profits of £455m for 1974, but the shares immediately fell in the stock market because of poorer-than-expected performance in the last quarter. Annual profits rose by £l44m on the previous year, but in the final quarter the pre-tax total was on £B2m, which is £lom less than in the same three months of 1973. ICI shares fell 13p from overnight levels to 204|p. The directors said that practically all the increase in 1974 profits came from overseas business (including exports from Britain) which now accounted for more than two-thirds of group profit.
