Banned S.A. student to tour N.Z.
I A white South African student leader who was banned from studying in his own country, will arrive in New Zealand on March 19 for a speaking tout sponsored by the National AntiApartheid Committee. Mr N. Curtis, who was banned from attending any educational institution in South Africa under the Suppression of Communism Act, was president of the white, English speaking National (Union of South African Students. Another banned South African student leader. Mr H. Isaacs, a former president of the Black South African Students' Organisation, arrived here to study law at Victoria University early this month. Mr Curtis, who is now working as education officer to the Australian Council for Overseas Aid, arrived in Australia a few weeks ago, the chairman of the National Anti-Apartheid Committee (Mr D. B C. Cuthbert) said in Christchurch on Thursday. “The aim of his New Zealand tour will be to inform people here of what conditions are like in South Africa as seen from the point of view of a while English-
