New racing series
(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) MELBOURNE.
A consortium of motorracing promoters in Melbourne announced a $49,000 series for Formula 5000 cars yesterday. It will be held over the next nine months, and will comprise seven race meetings between April and November. .
Five meetings will be held at Oran Park, Sydney, one at Sandown Park, Melbourne, and one at Phillip Islarid, Melbourne.
