Transport Development Australia, Ltd, will effectively raise its interim dividend from 6.8 to 8 per cent after a 52.4 per cent rise in interim profit. The British-controlled transport group earned $503,716 in the six months to December 31, and earnings a share, after adjusting for a one-for-10 bonus issue in October, rose from 7.9 c to 12.1 c.
The result was after providing $67,544 more for dei preciation at $259,477, and $133,202 more for taxation at $466,320. Sales rose .50 per cent from $3.7m to $5.5m. The result excludes an extraordinary profit of $1175. This profit was $24,888 last year.
The directors said that all trading subsidiaries operated to capacity in the six months.
