Training in metrics
Many people are not being ' sufficiently trained for the j metric changeover, according t to a survey bv the Metric Advisory Board. Twenty per , cent of those interviewed said ’ they were not receiving in t'-eir jobs enough information about metrics for the changeover.
There are still people who are unaware of the metric faining and information available. Such training is available at technical instL t-j*es and through local high s '’’ools. In most local bodies, J-rge firms, and Government departments, retraining is be- >-•» r-trried out within the crtanisation. Courses are s : '?rt. practical, and have a F'l’.t d n al of pupil narticipat on. Ail employers have been asked to approach their local t“ '.nic«| : n-’itute to discuss th' ; r retraining needs.
