Mainline ahead at half-year
Mainline Corporation of N.Z., Ltd, increased net profit. $20,723 or 21.0 per cent to $119,475 in the six months to December 31, the directors say in the half-yearly report.
An increased interim dividend of 3c a share (6 per cent) will be paid on March I 21 ex dividend March 5.
The interim dividend paid in 1973 was 2.5 c a share or 5 per cent. Gross revenue for the six months was more than $3.5m, the report says. The profit was after providing $30,000 more at $82,000 fqr tax. Income before tax rose 37.5 per cent to $201,000 after a rise of 56.2 per cent in trading profit of $189,000, but a fall of $13,000 to $12,000 in dividend from an associate company.
