OBITUARY Mr I. R. Kincaid
("The Press" Special Service) INVERCARGILL. One of Southland’s best-known racing and trotting personalities, Mr I. R. Kincaid, of Drummond, died suddenly on Thursday night. He lived the whole of his life in the Drummond district, where he was born and had extensive farming and business interests In the racing and trotting world be was a successful breeder and owner over many years. A few years ago he raced in partnership one of New Zealand’s top pacers. Fort Nelson, which was sold to the United States for 8100,000. He had bred and raced many outstanding gallopers in recent years. One of these was Magic Touch, which he raced in partnership with the Gore trainer. E. A. Winsloe. He was also a member of the partnership which raced the, fine mare Susan Jane, which was! also sold to the United States..Mr Kincaid also took an active, part as a racing and trotting■ administrator. He was a mem-i ber of the Winton Jockey Club’s! committee for some rears and 1 also served a s president. He was one of the foundation members of the Riverton Trotting Club. being a oceitteeman since its inception and president for a time. He also took an active part in many srorttng, and community affairs in the: Winton district.
