University Vacancies THE UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE INVITES APPLICATIONS for the following appointments, the closing date for applications being shown in brackets after each post: READER (PERIODONTOLOGY) in the Department of Dental Health. The Department of Dental Health is responsible for the teaching of Orthodontics, Pedodontics, Periodontology, Preventive and Community Dentistry. The Reader will be , responsible for the organisation of teaching of Periodontology for undergraduates and graduate students. The Reader will be expected to hold a registrable dental qualification and an appropriate postgraduate qualification. He will also be expected to have conducted research in an area relevant to Periodontology and to have had experience as a clinical specialist in the field (23.5.75). TUTOR IN ANATOMY AND HISTOLOGY. Applicants should have a degree in medicine, science or a field of medical science. The appointment will be made as soon as the person concerned is able to ■ assume duty. The Department of Anatomy and Histology teaches University students of Medicine, Dentistry and Science, and in addition Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy students of the South Australian Institute of Technology. Research fields are neuroendocrinology, human and comparative neurology, cell biology, experimental embryology, and clinical anatomy (1.3.75). SENIOR TEACHING FELLOWSHIP IN PHYSICS from May, 1975. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent qualification, and will be expected to devote half of this time to teaching and the remainder to research work with one of the Department’s established experimental projects which are, broadly, in the fields of space physics, seismology, radiophysics, cosmic rays, upper atmosphere physics and solid state physics (10.3.75). TUTOR IN ENGLISH to become effective as soon as the tutor can assume duty. Applicants should have a good Honours degree or an M.A. and will be expected to work towards a higher degree. Some experience of research work or University teaching will be an advantage (4.4.75). LECTURER IN EDUCATION. University teachers and other highly qualified tertiary and secondary teachers of History and/or Social Studies (an interest in English would be a further recommendation) are invited to apply for this post, which is mainly concerned with the theory and articulation of curricula (28.3.75). LECTURER IN ECONOMICS. Special preference will be given to applicants with an interest in Resource and Environmental Economics, Mathe- I matical Economics, or Urban or Regional Economics (12.3.75).
