Nine cars collide
Nine cars were involved in a nose-to-taii collision in Victoria Street, near Bealey Avenue, about 8 p.m. yesterday. No-one was injured in the accident although several cars had to be towed away. The cars conce..inaed into each other when the front one braked. Seven accidents — four involving injury — were reported to the Ministry of Transport in Christchurch last evening. A spokesman said that the rain, coming after a period of hot weather, had made the roads slippery.
