Post-mortem
Italian police have arrested the head of a private mail delivery agency after investigating how post became waste paper. The scandal broke last summer when it was revealed that tons of undelivered mail was being sold to pulp mills as waste paper. Sifting through recycled paper, police found the remains of registered letters, pension books, and other valuables entrusted to the post. — Rome, February 21.
