Roy Orbison Show
Sir, — Had your critic for; the Roy Orbison Show in the Town Hall been a little more observant, he surely [ would have noted that the “brass boys who performed 'so well” backing Yolande [Gibson, was not an Auckland group assisted by local musicians as reported, but a . newly formed orchestra ! under the direction of organs ist Tony Peek. This was announced by the compere and ! also by Yolande Gibson during her act. — Yours, etc., COLIN BANKS February 19, 1975. [Our reviewer, J. replies: “Mr Banks is correct. The ‘brass boys’ were from Auckland, but were not members of the first half backing group. My apologies (to Mr Peek.”]
