Lorna Mac has thrown off the soreness which threatened to B revent her from racing in the ominion Handicap, the two-year-old event at the Otago Racing Club’s meeting, and she worked in dashing style in the final gallops yesterday. Others to show up in their work included Mellisten, Samara and Kamil Pasha, The fast work was held on the plough under ideal conditions. The course proper was open, but little use was made of it as it was hard. Ridden by her race-day rider John Dowling, Lorna Mac revelled in her task running clear of Bronze Filou (R. Beckett) and Denalan (G. Sanderson) and could have improved on her 38.2sce for the last 600, Kamil Pasha (J. Dowling) set tlie pace over 800 to shade his stable-mate Jay Are Dee (M. Mein) in 50.4 sec, the last 600 in 38.4 sec.

Bay River (J Dowling) and Dark River (G. Sanderson) were together in 51.4 see, the last 600 in 39sec, and these times were equalled by Actionaire and Narium Sin. Lady Tromba (<*. Shirley) was given an easy task in 54sec. Young Command (A. Hunt) and Willie Beware (G. Sanderson) were on terms in 52.25ee after taking 13sec for the first 200.

Kurimai <G. Julius) and Cock Your Ear (G. Offen) shaded Curds ’N Whey (A Robinson). They ran the first 200 in 12.2scc and came home in sl.Bscc. Mellisten (R. McArA) worked clear of' Trade Secret «A. Brownlie) and Soldier Girl »W Riach) at the end of 1000 in Iniin 4.4 sec. the first 400 in 25sec.
