LEYLAND PLANS
One of the mbst advanced car plants in Europe will soon be built in England by British Leyland, the corporation’s chairman (Lord Stokes) announced recently. He also said that during the next year, the corporation planned to increase
commercial vehicle production,. step up Jaguar production, and start on the installation of a “highly sophisticated” new plaiit to make a new range of engines.
The corporation was committed next year to its biggest export programme ever, Lord Stokes said, and had an “exciting” programme of new models for 1975.
He hoped that his comments would allay the constant and completely uninformed speculation about the future of British Leyland, he said.
