PATCHED SHIP
<S.Z Pre** Association! AUCKLAND, Feb 20. The freighter Fremantle Star, which collided with the tug William C. Daldy, has been patched up in three days by Auckland ship repairers working around the clock. A big steel plate was welded over the gash in the starboard bow' of the ship, and steel framework built up inside her hull to support it The repairs are only temporary, according to Mason Engineering, Ltd, which has made the ship seaworthy for a voyage to North America where permanent repairs will be made.
