Alcan Australia, Ltd, will cut aluminium production at its Kurri Kurri smelter by 15 per cent from March 1. the directors say.

Comalco, Ltd, cut its Bel! IBay smelter output by about I9| per cent from January 1, land Alcoa of Australia. Ltd, has cut back to a four day (week at its Point Henry [aluminium fabricating division.

These cutbacks by Australian smelters and fabricating n'ants. coupled with falling demand from overseas customers. have also forced reductions in the output of alumina by the two main Australian producers.
