Mrs H. M. Tait signs her declaration as a councillor at the Waimairi County Council meeting last night. Mrs Tait, who was elected in the rerun of the Wairarapa riding election on February 1, was welcomed as the first woman member of the council by the chairman (Mr D. B. Rich, right).
